A shootout in the area of the Sons of Jacob Synagogue on Sunday evening has left the city of Belleville in shock.
Statements from Police Chief Murray Rodd, Mayor Neil Ellis and Sons of Jacob Synagogue President Norm Weddum, as well as Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette and MPP Tyler Allsopp have also been issued.
The shooting took place between a police officer and one suspect at the Jewish place of worship on Yom Kippuer – the holiest day of the year.
