Common triggers include environmental noise, clutter, and time pressure. But interpersonal triggers, like being interrupted or feeling dismissed, those are the ones that challenge our sense of respect and control. Like lack of accountability. These are common triggers but irritation reveals what we value.
If you are in a line up and irritated, take a deep breathe or name five things you can see. Mindfulness interrupts the emotional chain reaction. Ask yourself, ‘Is this worth the energy?’
