The grandparent scam, sometimes called the family emergency scam, is one of the most common frauds targeting older adults in Ontario and across Canada.
Typically, the scammer calls pretending to be a grandchild or close family member, and demands money right away.
On Wednesday, Detective Sergeant Martin Charbonneau from Belleville Police Service calls Mariam Serkal and Greg Moulton to explain what residents have to watch out for.
