Cat people… apparently we need to have a meeting.
A new study looked at nearly 2,000 families and found kids who had a cat around age four or five were more likely to show emotional or behavioural difficulties later.
Now — important — researchers did NOT prove cats caused it.
Which is good, because have you ever tried confronting a cat?
“Mr. Whiskers, we need to talk.”
No. We don’t. Feed me.
Funny enough, kids with pets like rabbits, hamsters, fish, turtles — even salamanders showed fewer difficulties.
Dogs? No significant positive or negative effect.
Basically dogs are like: “I’m just happy to be here.”
Cats are like: “I’ve been documenting this family’s problems for years.”
And if your teenager’s moody, doesn’t clean their room and ignores you when you talk to them…
don’t blame the cat.
The cat’s probably thinking, “Finally… someone in this house gets me.”
