In California, things are a little less glamorous. A wildfire near Simi Valley is threatening homes owned by Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian. Residents got evacuation warnings as the fire spread fast in those dry, windy conditions. Definitely one of those “grab the essentials and the family photo albums” kind of moments.
Over in West Hollywood, Johnny Depp had a security scare after police responded to a trespasser outside his home. No arrests, but apparently someone was filming around the property acting suspiciously. So basically, LA doing LA things.
And in Arizona, former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer was involved in a pretty wild moment when his McLaren got T-boned. TMZ says he wasn’t at fault and thankfully everyone walked away okay. The car? Not so lucky. Bauer, meanwhile, is still rehabbing a back injury, so it’s been a rough stretch all around.
Even royalty had a weird moment—King Charles III got hit with an unfortunate “bird dropping” situation during a visit to Northern Ireland. The King reportedly just brushed it off and kept greeting people. Honestly, that’s elite level composure… and probably laundry logistics.
Quick lighter turns: Jessica Simpson is clarifying she flew first class to Hawaii while her kids were in coach, saying her mom actually paid for the trip. Meanwhile Ray Romano is still cashing in big—about 18 million a year in residuals from Everybody Loves Raymond—and apparently has a fan who makes edible art of him… yes, edible. That’s a sentence we all just had to process.
And finally, some TV drama: there’s reportedly a behind-the-scenes family feud over a possible sequel to the Michael biopic. Sources say money is very much part of the conversation, because… well, Hollywood.
Oh, and late night is saying goodbye tonight—The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs its final episode after an 11-year run. Stephen Colbert signs off as both Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon go into reruns in tribute. End of an era… and definitely a “stay up late and watch one more clip on your phone” kind of night.
