“Street Fighter” won the weekend box office with $31 million, despite lukewarm reviews. The surprise was Nathan Fielder’s Elizabeth Holmes documentary, “You Can See Everything,” taking second with $15 million—the biggest documentary opening since “Fahrenheit 9/11.” Apparently, financial fraud gave street fighting a pretty good run for its money.
Jason Segel is a married man! The “Shrinking” star tied the knot with dancer Kayla Radomski in a small ceremony Saturday in Pasadena. She called it an “absolute dream” on Instagram. Jason, who stays off social media, apparently let the wedding photographer handle the posting.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are engaged! They went public with their relationship last Easter, and this will be his fourth marriage and her second. Billy Ray’s promoting a new song called “Party’s in the Back”—with wedding planning presumably happening up front.
Donnie Wahlberg says he and his team are okay after their private plane went off a Las Vegas runway and hit a fence during an aborted takeoff. They were headed to Toronto following New Kids on the Block’s residency finale. Nobody was hurt, and Donnie credits the pilots with preventing a much worse outcome.
Selma Blair’s representatives say a severe medical emergency was behind her recent plane incident, and that she never intended to hurt anyone. She’s accused of assaulting two flight attendants, a police officer and a nurse. Blair has pleaded not guilty to the charges involving the officer and nurse, and also faces separate federal charges.
Carrot Top is thanking fans for their love and support following a suicide attempt and hospitalization last month. The comedian says he’s overwhelmed by the kindness he’s received and announced plans to return to his Las Vegas residency tonight at the Luxor.
Jason Sudeikis says he’d like to make seasons five and six of “Ted Lasso,” but nothing’s confirmed—and there’s no writers’ room yet. His answer? “I just don’t know.” So fans can keep believing… just maybe hold off on renewing Apple TV quite yet.
Hugh Grant apparently passed on $750,000 an episode and a four-day work week to replace Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men.” Chuck Lorre shares that in his memoir, “Sitcom.” Ashton Kutcher eventually got the job. I’d need a four-day work week just to recover from turning down that money.
Antonio Banderas and Nicolas Cage are teaming up for season five of HBO’s “True Detective.” It’s set in Jamaica Bay, New York, with filming starting in 2027. No word on who they’re playing, but Nicolas Cage questioning a suspect? I’d confess before he finished introducing himself.
