Singer-songwriter D4VD, who’s 21, has pleaded not guilty to charges in the death and dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Prosecutors allege he killed her to keep her from exposing their relationship. If he’s convicted, the L.A. County DA is considering the death penalty.
Prince Harry is reportedly asking the British government for increased security now that he and his family are back in the U.K. The Sunday Times says Harry claims he didn’t know about an al-Qaeda threat against his family in 2023. And because private security guards in Britain can’t carry guns, Harry wants more police protection. An independent committee, not the government, makes those security decisions.
Former NFL quarterback and CBS commentator Tony Romo has pleaded no contest to a drunk-driving charge. Romo says chronic pain from back surgeries led to painkiller dependence and eventually alcohol addiction. He got a six-month driving ban, a fine, and a year with an ignition interlock device. He’s currently on leave from CBS and getting treatment.
Mel Gibson is facing criticism after video from FanExpo Canada in Toronto showed him mimicking an American Sign Language interpreter during a Q&A. Social media users called the gesture disrespectful, while actor Alan Ritchson was praised for respectfully acknowledging an interpreter at the same event. Gibson apologized, saying his actions were “thoughtless” and not malicious. FanExpo Canada has not commented on the incident.
Dolly Parton’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was vandalized just days after her death at 80. Someone reportedly scratched her name and removed flowers left by fans. Repairs began Tuesday, as the star had already been scheduled for maintenance. Parton died last week after a brief battle with cancer.

Snoop Dogg is looking for an international ice cream taster for his Dr. Bombay ice cream company—and the job pays about C$14,000 a month. The successful candidate will travel internationally, sample ice cream, spot new flavours and trends, and help develop future products. The role is open to applicants worldwide. All you need is a passport and a serious love of ice cream. Applicants will even be asked questions like how much ice cream they eat each week and which flavour combinations they love. The position pays US$10,000 a month (US$120,000 a year), and there’s currently no announced application deadline.
