So it looks like things may have been unraveling for Britney Spears even before that DUI arrest. TMZ says Britney recently fired her sobriety coaches and some of the people responsible for keeping an eye on her, including security. Sources say it happened after she sold the rights to her music catalogue and returned from a trip to Mexico. Insiders also claim she’s been struggling emotionally since the release of ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir.
And there are also concerns about the people around her. One source says Britney has been spending time with what they call “shady characters,” including people allegedly connected to drugs. Friends say the worry is that the people closest to her right now may not actually be looking out for her.
Britney Spears’ DUI arrest isn’t affecting her upcoming biopic. The film based on her memoir The Woman In Me is still moving forward with Wicked director Jon M. Chu, and Britney is expected to help with casting.
Meanwhile in royal drama…
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are reportedly dealing with a bit of an identity crisis after their father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — formerly Prince Andrew — was arrested earlier this year in connection to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Sources say the sisters want to hold onto their royal roles, but critics say many of their opportunities come specifically because of those titles.
Actress Daryl Hannah is also speaking out about a new TV series about John F. Kennedy Jr. The show Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette reportedly portrays Hannah in scenes involving cocaine and questionable behaviour. She told The New York Times that depiction is completely false.
Netflix and Meghan Markle are parting ways. The streamer says Meghan will continue growing her “As Ever” brand on her own. She and Prince Harry signed a reported $100-million Netflix deal in 2020. Their Harry & Meghan series was a hit… but later shows didn’t make nearly the same impact.
Looking ahead to the Oscars, the ceremony will include tributes to some Hollywood legends. Barbra Streisand will honour Robert Redford, while Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan will pay tribute to director Rob Reiner.
The Batman II may be eyeing Daniel Craig to play Christopher Dent, the father of Harvey Dent. If Craig passes, Liam Neeson is reportedly the backup. The movie isn’t due until October 2027 — so we’ve got a while.
And at the box office this weekend…
Pixar’s “Hoppers” is expected to lead with about 35 to 40 million dollars. “The Bride!” with Christian Bale could bring in around 10 to 15 million. And “Scream 7” is expected to add another 25 million in its second weekend.
