A shocking report says 71 per cent of Canadian youth have faced bullying in just the past year.
And for many parents, the hardest part is feeling ignored when they ask for help. This morning, Sean Kelly, Mariam Serkal and Dr Julie Gowthorpe RSW talk about schools, why some adults don’t step in, and how parents can help.
A new report from Children First Canada says our youth are a “generation at risk.” Some of the top threats to bullying are poverty, mental health struggles, and right near the top, bullying.
When it comes to bullying, many parents express feeling ignored when they raise these concerns. Teachers report they are intervening, but only one in four students actually feels supported.
Stand with your kids, listen to them, and remember that if you were going to work everyday and someone was making it horrible for you, you wouldn’t want to be there and you wouldn’t do a good job. The same goes for kids.
