Big weekend at the box office — Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle absolutely slayed. Anime fans showed up hard. Like, “I’ll buy two buckets of popcorn and cry through them” kind of hard.
TV’s biggest night just wrapped, and The Pitt took home Best Drama. Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa snagged acting wins — Noah finally upgraded from ER to Emmy. And The Studio crushed it in comedy: Seth Rogen walked away with four Emmys. That’s one for every laugh in The Interview.
Netflix’s Adolescence swept the limited series category, and made history — Owen Cooper became the youngest Emmy winner ever. Kid probably had to be tucked in before the afterparty.
Also picking up wins: Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Britt Lower and Tramell Tillman (Severance), Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere), and Colbert’s Late Show.
Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are officially engaged! A reporter casually called them “fiancés” at the Emmys and — surprise! — it was true. They’ve known each other since the ’90s, reconnected in 2020, and now they’re ready to ride off into the country-sunset together. Adorable.
On the fashion side of things, Jenna Ortega won the red carpet. The Wednesday star showed up in what looked like a glitter explosion held together by willpower and Givenchy. The outfit arrived in a coffin-shaped box, naturally. Because Wednesday Addams would never settle for a garment bag.
Speaking of unusual wardrobe choices… Travis Kelce wore a navy blazer and matching shorts to the Chiefs-Eagles game. Yes, shorts. A “shorts suit.” Some called it “preppy.” Others said he looked like a backup guitarist for School of Rock. Either way, the man commits to a look.
Ellen DeGeneres is reportedly being sued over a car accident in Santa Barbara. Allegedly, she ran a stop sign. The lawsuit is seeking damages for injuries and medical expenses. No word yet on if she danced away from the scene.
Lil Nas X is taking care of himself after that… memorable arrest last month (yes, the one where he was completely naked). He’s now in a treatment program focusing on both mental and physical health. His legal team says he’ll be treated out of state. Hoping for the best for him.
Drama alert: Britney’s exes are fighting — but it’s verbal. Sam Asghari called Kevin Federline a “professional father.” Kevin responded like a man writing his next caption: “Every dad should strive to be a professional father.” He’s also got a memoir coming out soon. So yes, the drama continues.
And finally — Serena and Venus Williams are stepping off the court and onto the mic. Their new podcast Stockton Street drops Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter). It’s named after their childhood street in Compton and the first episode was filmed at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Serena’s retired, Venus is back — but together? Always aces.
