Al Roker’s ex-wife, Alice Bell, has sadly passed away at 77. Their daughter, Courtney, shared the news on Instagram. Al hasn’t commented yet, and he was also missing from Today this morning.
In other news, Vince Neil’s private jet crashed in Scottsdale, Arizona, yesterday. The Learjet collided with another plane on the runway, killing one person and injuring several others. Neil’s girlfriend and her friend were on board, and the girlfriend is currently in the hospital with broken ribs. Initial reports suggest a landing gear failure may have caused the crash. Vince wasn’t on the plane at the time.
Kanye West is facing more fallout. His Yeezy.com website went offline after selling a swastika shirt, following his previous antisemitic comments. Shopify took the site down for violating terms of service. On top of that, his controversial Super Bowl ad made $2 million, but FOX had approved it under false pretenses. They only saw normal merchandise when they checked the site, not the offensive shirt. This is just another chapter in Kanye’s ongoing bans, including from X for explicit content.
Speaking of Kanye, he’s also being sued by a former Jewish employee, who claims he bullied her with antisemitic messages, including calling her a “heartless sociopath” and texting “I Am A NAZI.” She says she was fired after reporting the behavior and is now suing for damages. His team hasn’t responded yet.
The Village People are in talks for a Las Vegas residency, with plans to pocket around $10 million. A source says it won’t be on the level of Adele or Celine Dion, but it’s definitely a big deal for the group.
Megan Fox is reportedly gearing up for a career comeback after having her first child with Machine Gun Kelly. A source says that she’s gained a “renewed sense of confidence” since being apart from MGK, and now that she’s had the baby, she’s ready to focus on her career again.
In some exciting news for racing fans, Captain America star Anthony Mackie will be giving the starting command at the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 16th. A source says fans are pumped to see him lead the drivers at such an iconic event.
