Are you exhausted by a relationship where the other person is always the victim, never says sorry, and you leave interactions unsettled?
This morning, Sean Kelly and Mariam Serkal sit down with Dr Julie Gowthorpe, RSW to talk about covert narcissism, what it means and what to do about it.
Covert narcissists often present themselves as victims, using tactics like guilt-tripping or feigning illnesses to manipulate those around them. It’s a personality trait that can profoundly impact personal and professional relationships.
Covert narcissism, also called vulnerable narcissism, differs from the more stereotypical antagonistic narcissism where it’s in your face with instead subtle, less obvious behaviors.
These individuals often appear sensitive and humble on the surface but manipulate others behind the scenes to meet their own needs.
