Hey, did you hear about “The Equalizer 3”? It totally dominated the holiday weekend box office, raking in a whopping $42.5 million!
But speaking of Hollywood, it’s not all sunshine and roses. The WGA strike is still causing quite a stir, leading to a labor crisis in Tinseltown. Thankfully, TIFF 2023 is mostly unaffected by the strike and continues to be a global cinema showcase. However, some Hollywood stars decided to skip TIFF this year, so the red carpet won’t be as star-studded as usual. On the bright side, the musician and talent interviews are still shining. Looking ahead, there might be some challenges for TIFF in 2024 if the strike persists. We could be facing a shortage of American films due to the ongoing labor dispute.
Now, onto some celebrity drama. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are headed for divorce court. TMZ spilled the beans, and it turns out Joe has filed the legal documents to end their marriage. He’s asking for joint custody of their two adorable daughters, 3-year-old Willa and their 1-year-old. Rumor has it they had a prenup.
And speaking of rumors, there was this wild one about 60-year-old Johnny Depp supposedly dating 20-year-old Jenna Ortega. Jenna wasn’t having any of it and addressed the claims on her Instagram stories. She called it “ridiculous” and set the record straight, saying she’s never even met Johnny Depp. Drama, drama!
Now, let’s switch gears to Kevin Costner’s courtroom showdown. He recently testified about his divorce and a pay dispute involving ‘Yellowstone’. It got pretty heated in there as he chuckled at times and got into a heated argument with his ex-wife’s lawyer. In the end, Costner won the child support battle, with the judge slashing the support payments in half to $63,000 a month. Christine, his estranged wife, had been seeking a whopping $161,000 a month. Oh, and apparently, she spends $18,000 a month on clothing!
Moving on to the world of reality TV, Kourtney Kardashian had a bit of a health scare. She was briefly hospitalized but is now back home with her kids and feeling better. On the music front, Blink-182 had to postpone their European tour due to “an urgent family matter.” Hope everything’s okay there!
Sad news for fans of Bob Barker, the beloved host. TMZ reported that his cause of death was Alzheimer’s disease.
And finally, a bit of an adventure for Chris Rock and Diplo at Burning Man. They had to make a hasty exit after a heavy rainstorm left many festivalgoers stranded in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. Diplo even shared that Chris thought there might be cannibalism a day later and was worried about people raiding their camp. Yikes!
