We’re only 11 days away from Labor Day, which kinda marks the “unofficial” beginning of fall. But hold onto your cozy sweaters because today feels like the “unofficial unofficial” start of the season. Why, you ask? Well, because the Pumpkin Spice Latte is making its triumphant return at Starbucks today!
Can you believe it’s the big 2-0 for the Pumpkin Spice Latte? This iconic drink made its debut back in 2003. Back then, “Friends” was still gracing our TV screens, Ugg boots were just starting to take the fashion world by storm, and remember when Ben Affleck and J-Lo were all about that wedding hype for the first time?
Usually, you’d expect the Pumpkin Spice Latte to grace the menu sometime in late August or early September. But guess what? This year, it’s breaking records by showing up even earlier. Remember back in 2021 when it made a surprise appearance on August 24th? Well, lightning struck twice, and here we are again with another August 24th PSL extravaganza.
Back in the good ol’ days of 2003, this autumnal elixir debuted on October 10th. But hey, times change, and so did its schedule. Over the past decade, the latest it decided to bless us with its pumpkin-spiced presence was on September 8th in 2015.
Hold onto your taste buds, because Starbucks isn’t stopping at just the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte. This year, they’re jazzing up the menu with not one, but two new fall drinks. Drumroll, please! Introducing the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte and the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. Fancy, right? Oh, and if you’re a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew fanatic, you’re in luck – it’s making its grand return for the fifth consecutive year.
But wait, there’s more! Amid all the sips, Starbucks is throwing in a new food item too – the Baked Apple Croissant. Now, before you rush to your nearest Starbucks, keep in mind that not all locations may have this treat on offer.
