The Tiny Desk has welcomed many big names over the years – pop, rock, and hip-hop stars alike. But Austin Richard Post takes the cake for being incredibly down-to-earth and easygoing. He’s the kind of guy who’d win the lottery and still brush it off like he just stumbled upon some spare change.
Post Malone was an absolute delight before, during, and after the show. And as luck would have it, he brought along some of the 21st century’s biggest pop hits. Take “Sunflower,” for instance – it’s gone eighteen-times platinum since dropping in 2018, a record for the ages. Then you’ve got “I Fall Apart” from 2017 and “Circles” from 2019, each a modest ten-times platinum.
Closing out the set is “Enough Is Enough,” a track from Post Malone’s fresh album “Austin.” It’s only been out for a few weeks, so don’t be surprised if it climbs the charts soon enough.
Enjoy this performance for what it truly is: one of the planet’s top-tier artists belting out some of the decade’s biggest tunes, all backed by an amazing band. Even Post Malone himself seems taken aback by how amazing this Tiny Desk show sounds – and that’s not just him being humble.
