Avril Lavigne just scored a spot on Canada’s Walk of Fame – The Walk of Fame is turning 25 this year, and they’re throwing a big party. Avril, the cool singer-songwriter who brought us hits like “Complicated” and “Sk8er Boi,” is totally getting in on the action.
Remember when Avril was just 16? Well, that’s when she signed a record deal with Arista Records. And then, bam! She dropped her first album, “Let Go,” and it became the best-selling Canadian album of the 21st century.
But Avril’s not the only one getting a shiny star on the Walk of Fame. Tantoo Cardinal, the super talented Cree/Metis actress who’s been rocking the screen for five decades, is joining the party too. She’s even set to star in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming flick “Killers of the Flower Moon.” How awesome is that?
And guess who else is joining the star-studded crew? Gary Slaight, the do-gooder and bigwig in the broadcast world, is getting his star. Oh, and we can’t forget about Michael Budman and Don Green, the cool cats who co-founded Roots, that rad outdoor lifestyle brand.
The Walk of Fame is throwing a special bash on December 2, and you know it’s gonna be epic. They’ll be airing it on CTV too, so even if you can’t make it, you won’t miss out.
Speaking of awesome Canadians, hockey superstar Connor McDavid and the hilarious TV commentator Rick Mercer are also on the guest list for this year’s Walk of Fame shindig. It’s like a who’s who of Canada’s finest, and it’s gonna be legendary.
