With statistics showing millions of people report suffering from anxiety and diagnosed Generalized Anxiety Disorder, life feels over whelming for many people in our community.
Sean Kelly and Mariam Serkal had Dr. Julie Gowthorpe, RSW on the show this morning, and talked about how to tame anxiety on a sustainable basis.
Julie also pointed out that a new study, published in the Journal of American Medical Association Psychiatry, found that even with a diagnosis of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, structured mindfulness and meditation practice was equally as effective as medication in lowering symptoms of anxiety.
