Cali Baldwin is a grade 5 student at JJ’ Oneil and came up with this drawing after it has discussed about the residential school system and how they were finding buried children. So as her mom and her reflected, she drew!
The design of her shirt, to her is a representation of the children that were being found. The seeds growing the trees share the meaning that we are still here so you can’t forget about us!!
Her brother Blake and Twin sister Aubri are very proud of her and her incentive to want to share her vision!
Her mom Ashley and step dad Josh Pedro are also very proud!! They wanted to raise the money to put toward her Catholic school and hopefully other schools and buying them residential educational material (books) to put in each classroom – so far they have sold over 470 shirts!!
Cali and her mom join the Mix97 Morning show here
