A new survey conducted by economics professors Andrew Tan and Hugo Mialon reveals that couples, who spend more money on their weddings, are more likely to divorce.
Researchers interviewed 3,000 couples before concluding that the length of a marriage is inversely associated with how much money that couple spent on their wedding day.
One possible reason is that couples often go into debt after paying for expensive weddings. Financial arguments may eventually lead to an erosion of the marriage.
Relationship experts recommend saving money for a post-wedding vacation or honeymoon, rather than splurging on a fancy wedding.
And or maybe also set some cash aside for the divorce!
