This sounds like a lot of work, but a Welsh community group gathered hundreds of volunteers to break a Guinness World Record by building 2,044 sand castles. The Beautiful Barry community group organized the record attempt after getting 5,000 members on Facebook. They say the sandcastles were built on Whitmore Bay beach in continuous lines end-to-end with at least four towers per castle to qualify for the record. An official surveyor was on hand to verify the attempt– their report and other evidence is being submitted to Guinness for official recognition.
