Tattoos are pretty trendy, but are they really safe? A new study from German researchers shows that chromium and nickel particles from tattoo ink make their way into the body’s lymph nodes after one gets a tattoo. They also found tattoo needle particles present in the body if the person’s tattoo ink contained titanium dioxide, an abrasive agent commonly used in white ink. Still, researchers can’t speak on the long term effects of having tattoo ink in your lymph nodes, as there haven’t been studies on this yet.
