Canada Day is approaching with lot of wonderful local celebrations. But if you and your family are planning to celebrate away from home……. Keep in mind there will be no celebrations at Queen’s Park in Toronto this year!
Doug Ford cancelled Queen’s Park Canada Day celebration, a tradition since 1967. Instead Ford is offering free admission to the first 500 visitors at 10 different Ontario agencies and attractions.
Instead of hosting a single event at Queen’s Park, the Event at Queen’s Park has “had low attendance” and typically costs between $300,000 and $400,000. So Offering free admission to the 10 attractions will cost the government about $80,000.
Admission For The First 500 Visitors on July 1st will be offered at;
Fort William Historical Park (Thunder Bay)
Huronia Historical Parks (Midland and Penetanguishene)
McMichael Canadian Art Collection (Vaughan)
Butterfly Conservatory – Niagara Parks Commission (Niagara)
Ontario Science Centre (Toronto)
Cinesphere – Ontario Place (Toronto)
Royal Botanical Gardens (Burlington)
Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto)
Science North (Sudbury)
St. Lawrence Parks Commission (St. Lawrence Region)
If your in any of theses areas on Canada Day you might wanna take advantage with the family on Canada Day!
