Don’t forget we spring forward tomorrow!!!!!
It’s Daylight Savings Time and a study by the University of Oregon reveals that Daylight Saving Time could be life threatening.
HOW????
Research shows Springing Ahead results in a 5% increase in the number of heart attacks and a 5% increase in the number of injuries at work. “Over one-third of us sleep less than the suggested minimum seven hours a night and two-thirds of teens sleep less than their minimum recommended eight hours.
When we spring forward, the clocks on the wall advance, but our body clocks do not change so readily. It generally takes a few days for us to adapt to the time change in a way that allows us to fall asleep at our typical time.
The upshot is that we sleep approximately 40 minutes less than usual on the Sunday to Monday night following the switch.”
What what does all this really mean… to me this means I should maybe party harder this weekend. I mean If I’m gonna have a heart attack on Monday I might as well have a going away party…Right?!
Listen, this wouldn’t be a problem if we all lived in Saskatchewan, cause most of Saskatchewan does not chance clocks spring and fall
it technically observes DST year round. This means that clocks in most of the province match clocks in Winnipeg during the winter and Calgary and Edmonton during the summer.
So we might not benefit heath wise from this clock crap….. But I’ll benefit from it………. The best part about daylight savings is that the clock in my car is correct again!
