Dating has apparently reached the point where “Have you tried meeting someone?” has become… “Have you tried summoning someone?”
According to a survey reported by Boomsite, 64 per cent of Gen Z respondents have tried a spiritual or psychic practice to help their love lives.
Nearly one in five had actually paid for a spell or ritual through places like Etsy or TikTok.
Imagine your online shopping cart: handmade candle, decorative pillow… emotionally available boyfriend.
“Customers who bought this also bought… another emotionally unavailable boyfriend.”
Tarot cards were the most popular method. And among Gen Z respondents who tried these practices, 46 per cent said they worked at least somewhat.
“At least somewhat” is doing a lot of work there.
“He didn’t fall in love with me, but he watched my Instagram story. The wizard gets three stars.”
The encouraging part? Therapy ranked highest as Gen Z’s most trusted dating guidance.
Because sometimes you don’t need someone to read your cards. You need someone to read your texts and say, “Please stop replying to this man.”
Personally, before I buy a love spell, I need to know the return policy.
If they disappear after two dates… is that ghosting, or did I order the wrong spell?
