Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway win the weekend! Their thriller Verity… the Movie opened at number one with $32.6 million. Resident Evil finished second, followed by Brad Pitt’s Heart of the Beast. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise’s Digger opened with just $8 million against a budget of at least $125 million.
Chance the Rapper wants to change his name… to The Rapper. He says he’s considering dropping “Chance” as a way of embracing his commitment to hip-hop. Fair enough—but good luck finding him on Google. That’s like naming your restaurant “The Restaurant.”
Eminem and Kid Rock are putting their political differences aside. They’ve teamed up for “7 Sins,” on Kid Rock’s upcoming Christian album, Halfway to Jesus. Kid Rock hopes their friendship reminds people they can disagree and still stay friends.

Tony Romo and CBS Sports have parted ways. The former Cowboys quarterback pleaded no contest following an impaired-driving arrest in Wisconsin. He says he’s taking time to focus on his health and family.
A big Hollywood merger comes with a new name. The combined Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery company will be called Skydance, with the deal expected to close tomorrow.
Fast & Furious is heading to television! A Peacock series is in the works, with Vin Diesel executive producing. Meanwhile, Fast Forever hits theatres March 17, 2028.
And the Avengers have beaten Avatar… again! The Endgame re-release has pushed it back to number one on the all-time worldwide box-office chart, with more than $2.925 billion. Apparently, “Endgame” was more of a suggestion.
