At the box office this weekend, the animated movie “Hoppers” hopped right into the number one spot. Families showed up big time.
Over at the Oscars, the big winner was “One Battle After Another,” which took home Best Picture. But there was a bit of backstage drama. Actress Tey-ana Taylor was trying to get on stage for the big Best Picture photo… and apparently a security guard blocked her and even tried to physically push her away. Awkward moment. She did eventually make it into the photo — but not before venting to a few people on stage.
Another Oscars moment — Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for that same film… but he wasn’t there. Turns out Penn is in the Ukraine.
And speaking of the Oscars… Leonardo DiCaprio did something he almost never does — he brought his girlfriend. Leo and model Vittoria Cer-etti sat together inside, but they still skipped the red carpet. Classic Leo move.
Random throwback story — rocker Sebastian Bach is jokingly apologizing to Christina Applegate. Her new memoir revealed she once ditched Brad Pitt at the 1989 MTV VMAs… to hang out with Bach instead. Bach says it was the wild rock-and-roll era and he hopes no feelings were hurt.
Meanwhile, Britney Spears is reportedly leaning on the Kardashian family for support after her recent DUI arrest. Sources say they want to help her get back on track and are working on a plan to support her wellbeing.
And this could be a big movie pairing — Bradley Cooper is reportedly in talks to write, direct and star alongside Margot Robbie in a prequel to “Ocean’s Eleven.” The story would be set in the 1960s, before the original heist films. If it happens, filming could start later this year.
