What’s shaking up long term relationships is women, often in their forties and fifties, make a decision to walk away from long-term marriages.
This morning, Sean Kelly and Mariam Serkal sit down with Dr Julie Gowthorpe, RSW to talk about the phenomenon of “walkaway wives”.
Women realize fifty is young. They want fulfillment, connection, and purpose. The social pressures that once kept women in unhappy marriages just aren’t as powerful anymore.
According to statistics, nearly a third of women who divorce in midlife report being happier than ever afterward. And 76 percent say they wouldn’t hesitate to do it again if another marriage didn’t work.
