Sad news to start — R&B icon D’Angelo has passed away at 51 after a battle with cancer. The guy who made Untitled (How Does It Feel) a whole vibe in the ’90s — and maybe made a few shirts unnecessary — was a major force in neo-soul. Brown Sugar, Black Messiah… he leaves behind music that still hits.
AMC Theaters is showing some love to Diane Keaton this week. They’re putting Annie Hall and Something’s Gotta Give back in theaters starting Friday, as a tribute. Diane passed away Saturday at 79, and honestly, there’s no replacing her — turtlenecks and all.
Alec Baldwin had a rough morning — he crashed his wife’s Range Rover head-on into a tree. He says a garbage truck cut him off, and next thing you know — boom, tree. Everyone’s okay, but Alec says he feels terrible for “crushing” his wife’s car. He was in the Hamptons for a film fest, but sounds like the real drama was in the driveway.
Kevin Federline is back in the headlines — and not for dancing. In his new memoir, You Thought You Knew, he says Britney Spears is “not OK” and claims their sons were once scared to be at her house. He says he’s tried for 20 years to bridge the gap, but now it’s the “11th hour.” Yikes.
John Mayer’s reportedly dating influencer Kat Stickler. Apparently he slid into her DMs, which — if you know John Mayer — makes sense. She just got out of a relationship and says she’s not looking for anything serious, which also makes sense… if you know John Mayer.
Despite all the buzz, Maggie Baugh is not rejoining Keith Urban on tour. Sources say she was just filling in before — not a sign of romance or a music collab. And no, Keith’s still not talking about Nicole Kidman or anything else. So that’s… a non-update update.
Millie Bobby Brown and Rachel Brosnahan are joining forces for a Netflix series called Prism. Millie will play a woman who can talk to ghosts — but with a sci-fi twist. Think spooky Stranger Things meets The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel… kind of. No release date yet, but Netflix’s wallet is definitely open.
And finally… M. Night Shyamalan is making a live-action series based on — wait for it — the Magic 8 Ball. Yeah, that toy you shook in middle school to find out if your crush liked you. It’s being turned into a supernatural drama, because… of course it is. Will it be good? Signs point to maybe.
