Today on the MIX Morning Show, Sean Kelly, Mariam Serkal and Dr Julie Gowthorpe RSW talk about setting boundaries – are they helpful or are they becoming a barrier to your goals?
Boundaries can be helpful if they are set with kindness, compassion for self as well as empathy. When empathy or care for others is missing, your boundary naturally becomes a barrier to relationships and growth.
Boundaries should promote openness and empathy rather than being one-sided where, even if it isn’t the intent, the other person is left feeling all you care about is yourself.
If you show you care and your boundaries come from a good place, they won’t be a barrier.
