When it comes to candy-filled holidays, kids always seem to have the upper hand. They get to dress up for Halloween, go trick-or-treating, and then, just six months later, the Easter Bunny swoops in with a basket full of treats. While adults might steal a few pieces from their kids’ candy stash, a new report from Ferrero shows that grown-ups are ready for their own Easter goodies.
The candy company recently released its 2025 Easter Celebration Index, giving us a glimpse into how Americans plan to celebrate the upcoming holiday—and it turns out, adults are getting in on the sweet fun too.
Here’s what the report uncovered:
-
Three in five adults (that’s 60%!) are hoping for their very own Easter basket this year.
-
Nearly 1 in 4 (22%) adults specifically want Easter chocolate—because who doesn’t love a good chocolate fix?
-
Two-thirds of grown-ups (67%) prefer to make their own Easter baskets, so they can fill them with their favorite treats.
-
What’s inside the ideal basket? Well, 36% of adults want gift cards, while 23% are still all about the candy. But 69% say their Easter basket must have chocolate—no exceptions.
-
When it comes to choosing candy, almost two-thirds (64%) of adults say chocolate is their go-to over non-chocolate options.
-
For decorating, 44% of 18-24-year-olds turn to social media for inspiration, while only 8% of people 65+ do the same. It seems like the younger crowd is all about the Pinterest-perfect holiday vibes!
-
Planning ahead or last-minute shopping? While most older adults (18% of those 65+) get their shopping done early, over half of people between 25 and 44 (52%) are procrastinators, picking things up at the last minute.
-
And if you’re lucky enough to receive a chocolate bunny in your basket, 69% of those surveyed agree—you should always start with the ears. (Feet first? Never!)
So, it’s clear: Easter isn’t just for the kids anymore. Grown-ups are ready to indulge in the holiday spirit—and the candy—just as much as the little ones.
