Today on the MIX Morning Show, Sean Kelly, Mariam Serkal and Dr Julie Gowthorpe, RSW tackle a topic that so many people struggle with: living with, working with or loving a moody person.
We’re talking about people whose moods swing unpredictably, making you feel like you’re walking on eggshells. And the big question—how can you cope with this behavior without enabling it?
Moodiness often stems from an unwillingness to confront deeper emotional wounds.
Rather than processing their feelings in a healthy way, they externalize their frustrations onto other people, their supervisor, coworker, friend or partner. This could be due to unresolved childhood trauma, fear of abandonment, or even self-esteem issues.
If you want to feel well, you have to set boundaries. That means, not absorbing their mood.
