“Den of Thieves 2” took the top spot at the weekend box office with $15.5 million. Not bad, right?
Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD foundation is stepping up in a big way, donating $2.5 million to help the families affected by the Los Angeles wildfires, especially those in Altadena and Pasadena.
Speaking of the wildfires, the most expensive home in Pacific Palisades didn’t make it. The $125 million mansion, featured on Succession, was burned to the ground. The mansion had 18 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a designer kitchen, and even a theater. It belonged to Austin Russell, the CEO of Luminar Technologies, and rented for a whopping $450,000 a month.
Tom Hanks is reportedly feeling guilty that his $26 million Pacific Palisades home survived the deadly fires. He and his wife are still processing it, with an insider saying they feel blessed but unsure about what to do next. They’re worried about their neighbors who lost everything, and the idea of staying in their home surrounded by destruction feels weird to them.
Melissa Rivers shared with Page Six that she grabbed a few irreplaceable things when she evacuated her Pacific Palisades home during the fires—her late mom Joan Rivers’ Emmy Award, a photo of her dad, and a drawing her mom made of her and her son. She said it was interesting to realize what you grab in those moments, and for her, the drawing was more precious than the photo because it couldn’t be replaced.
Tyler Perry spoke out to The Daily Mail about how appalling it is that insurance companies can cancel policies for people who’ve paid premiums all their lives. He’s trying to figure out how he can help people who are left in a tough spot, and he’s keeping them in his prayers.
Jason Bateman’s sister, Justine Bateman (you might remember her from Family Ties), didn’t hold back when she criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for touring the wildfire damage. She called them “disaster tourists” and said their photo op was repulsive, especially since they don’t even live there.
On the topic of Meghan, she’s postponed the release of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan until March 4th due to the fires. She and Harry have been helping out in Pasadena and focusing on the community for now.
