We are entering a very exciting year for the RCAF, with April 1st marking the beginning of their 100th anniversary celebrations!
That’s a whole century of service that marks the air force as an independent military element, and being that we are just a short drive away from the largest air force base in Canada, we would be remiss if we did not talk about this occasion!
I myself come from a proud military family. My granddad enlisted in the military as soon as he was able to, following in his uncle’s footsteps.
My uncle Keith was, at the time, a member of the Canadian Army and served in the Black Watch during WWII and after WWII. PS: They did some super-secret spy stuff. My granddad knew he was more interested in the air force than the Army and was an active serviceman as a flight engineer flying on the Herc and rescue planes. He actually wrapped up his career here in the late 1970s.

Throughout 2024, the RCAF will have a ton of different events going on in celebration. Most notable is the airshow happening at the base in Trenton on June 29th and 30th.
We look forward to seeing what this next year has to offer and showcasing the RCAF!
Happy Anniversary!
