Hey folks, so Valentine’s Day just wrapped up, which, you know, was a big deal for all the couples out there. But guess what? Today’s Singles Awareness Day! Yup, it’s like the aftermath celebration for all the single folks. Not as hyped as Valentine’s Day, sure, but hey, it’s still on the radar!
Now, the irony is that the acronym for Singles Awareness Day is “SAD.” Ouch, right? But hey, we’re here to celebrate you awesome single souls nonetheless!
Here’s a kicker: There was this poll asking singles if they’re loving the single life, and guess what? Only a measly 10% said yes. (As someone who’s hitched, I gotta say, you singles might be missing the forest for the trees!)
So, Google decided to share some interesting stats about it…
- Searches for “speed dating” are through the roof, hitting a five-year high. No surprises there, given it’s February and all about lovey-dovey stuff.
- Ever heard of the dating app “Score”? Well, searches for it shot up by 600% this week! It’s the one where you need a solid credit score of at least 675 to join. Seems like a bunch of folks are intrigued by the concept.
- And there’s a whole variety of dating apps trending this month, from those catering to serious relationships to ones for gamers and even seniors.
- Singles are also on the hunt for the perfect Valentine’s captions and the best meal kits for solo dining.
- Maryland and Georgia seem to be particularly keen on “singles nights.” Go figure!
- Wondering what solo activities are hot this week? Movies, concerts, parks, spas, and museums are topping the charts.
