A group of women came together to create a comprehensive list of 28 places where women would rather not go on a first date, and it provides valuable insights.
Approximately half of the places on the list are well-known chain restaurants. Tim Hortons, Swiss Chalet, Boston Pizza, Montana’s, Second Cup, Harvey’s, Jack Astor’s, Milestones, St-Hubert, Earls Kitchen + Bar, East Side Mario’s, White Spot, The Keg, and any local fast-food chain were all included in the list of undesirable first date destinations.
In addition to these chain restaurants, the list also discourages taking a first date to the movies, watching Netflix at home, or going to the guy’s house. It advises against suggesting a first date at a hockey game, a curling match, or a family gathering. Also, women prefer not to spend a first date at a coffee shop or an ice cream parlor. Bowling alleys, nightclubs, hookah bars, regular bars solely for drinks, or anywhere that necessitates a long drive are all first date no-nos.
Some folks may find this list amusing, claiming that it seems to rule out almost every option. They’re left wondering what, then, constitutes an acceptable first date. However, others argue that these restrictions eliminate the mundane, overdone ideas and inspire daters to think creatively, coming up with memorable, non-traditional first date experiences.
One suggestion that resonates with many is the idea of exploring something new for both parties. It doesn’t need to be extravagant or costly; for instance, trying out a new local poutine joint can be a great choice. This not only supports small businesses, but it also adds a unique and flavorful twist to your first date.
So, why not consider a first date as an opportunity to break out of your comfort zone and explore? It doesn’t have to be extravagant; the key is to create an experience that is both enjoyable and memorable for both you and your date.
