It’s almost time to celebrate all the wonderful things that make our country one of the best places to live in the world. Can you believe it? Saturday, July 1st is Canada Day, and communities from coast to coast to coast are gearing up for some fantastic events in honor of this special day.
Let me share with you a few of the Canada Day celebrations happening in the Quinte region:

Quinte West, specifically Trenton’s Centennial Park, is hosting a Regional Firefit competition on Canada Day and Sunday. Firefighters from several communities will be competing in thrilling events such as the Tower Climb, Hose Pack Carry, Hose Hoist, Forcible Entry, Hose Advance, and Victim Rescue. It’s going to be an exciting display of skills and teamwork.
Wellington has an event happening on June 30th, leading up to Canada Day. It’s a great opportunity to kick off the festivities early. Be sure to check it out!
Don’t miss the Wellington Canada Day Parade either. It’s always a highlight of the celebrations in that area.
For those in Picton, you can enjoy spectacular Canada Day fireworks in Ameliasburgh. It’s bound to be a dazzling display of lights and colors that will fill the night sky.
Brighton, Tweed, Stirling-Rawdon, Tyendinaga Township, Marmora and Lake, Greater Napanee, and Deseronto are also joining in the Canada Day festivities. Oh, and mark your calendars! Since Canada Day falls on a Saturday, Monday, July 3rd, will be observed as a statutory holiday, giving you an extra day to relax and enjoy the long weekend.
