You know, there is a difference between drinking on St. Patrick’s Day and Cinco de Mayo. On St. Patrick’s Day, everyone pretends to be Irish, but on Cinco de Mayo, nobody pretends to be Mexican.
Speaking of faking things, did you know that some people believe Cinco de Mayo is actually about a ship full of mayonnaise that sank off the coast of Mexico? Of course, that’s just a made-up story for laughs.
If you’re looking to celebrate in style, check out the Rhapsody Bar in Houston, Texas. They’re offering a $75 margarita made with top shelf tequila and a bunch of other fancy ingredients that are hard to pronounce. For that price, it better be made with stuff I can’t pronounce!
Personally, I think I’ll stick to my budget-friendly margaritas for now, but maybe someday I’ll splurge and give that $75 margarita a try.
