A 350 pound woman was told by a personal trainer that she was “way too heavy” for his fitness class. The woman — 33-year-old Lisa Parratt said that workout instructor Gary Randall — who goes by the moniker “Buffmaster” at UK based gym Slimming World said that she was “just too big” and told her that she has “at least six months” before qualifying for his course. Parratt has lost 35 pounds since January. Randall said in his message to her, “I’m sorry to say I won’t be able to help you at bootcamp. Your way to heavy now.” Parratt replied that if he is a personal trainer, can’t he “help people lose weight?” He responded, “Yes I do but you gone to far. Focus on the gym for at least six months then let’s see where your at.” Parratt then pushed favor, asking for his reasoning, and he responded, “Your just to big for my bootcamp that’s all. If you lose about five stone of fat [70 pounds] [I’ll] be able to help you achieve your goals.” Parratt said in an interview, “I don’t hide from my weight but I do expect a professional [person] delivering a professional service to give a better response than that. Why didn’t he come over and have a quiet word with me when he saw me?” Parratt was so upset that she spent “a night in tears” but when she woke up the next day, he decided to post her exchange on Facebook to “raise awareness.” Randall took to Facebook to defend himself, saying, “Always best to be honest in my business sometimes brutally #teambuffmaster.” He also said in an interview that Parratt is a “very silly woman.” and the whole situation was “blown out of proportion.”
