One six-year-old girl in Dayton, Maine, unknowingly changed the culture of her entire school when she became the first and only deaf student to attend.
In 2017, Dayton Consolidated School began teaching their students and staff sign language to welcome Morey Belanger to their community.
To celebrate Belanger and all the hard work her fellow students put in to learn some sign language, the school recently threw a party at which Cinderella came and sang to Morey’s kindergarten class in sign language.
