Some might argue that what makes planning a wedding worth all the trouble is the honeymoon. But just as everything else, honeymoons are changing.
It’s now trendy for couples to go on separate, solo vacations. One couple told the New York Times that they couldn’t agree on a honeymoon destination. The groom wanted to go to France, and the bride didn’t– so the bride headed to Toronto while the groom went to France to watch soccer with friends.
In another case a couple couldn’t coordinate their work schedules to make one honeymoon work, so instead each tacked their solo honeymoon onto the end of separate work-related trips.
It’s possible taking a solo honeymoon is a good thing as new research finds one in four adults say they get more out of traveling when they do it by themselves.
But is that really a honeymoon that’s my question… you just got married. shouldn’t this be a together thing?
