This might sound like Chicago is going crazy, but the city is setting its train tracks on fire and still sending trains and subways down the lines!
Cities is the US like Chicago in the Midwest are suffering through wind chills of -50 degrees and because of this employees at Chicago’s Metra commuter rail system are having to set the train tracks on fire to prevent them from freezing.
Using gas heaters that run alongside the tracks the tracks can then be heated enough so that normal train and metro scheduling can resume to its best ability.
However, like in the video below, there are also hot air blowers that are pushing the fire up so it looks like someone set the actual tracks on fire.
Essentially the city of Chicago is eliminating your excuse of not being able to go to work because the metro is down.
