Technically her name is pronounced “Ab-city,” but the five-year-old and her mother overheard the gate agent making fun of her name and saw her post it on social media. Here is what Southwest said in response to the mom complaining about the gate agent:
“We take great pride in extending our Southwest Hospitality to all of our Customers, which includes living by the Golden Rule and treating every individual with respect,” the statement reads. “The post is not indicative of the care, respect, and civility we expect from all of our Employees.”

Obviously, the gate agent shouldn’t have made fun of a customer, but can we give her the full blame when the kid’s parents gave her a funny name?
