The 14th annual Invisible Ribbon Gala: Night at the Museum, sponsored by Scotiabank and hosted by the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC), will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the National Air Force Museum of Canada. Guests will be whisked into a fantastical evening of RCAF history with the museum coming to life!
We are proud to say that, thanks to your help in 2016 and 2017, the Trenton MFRC opened two new locations in Belleville and Frankford, with a third on the horizon, to better serve military members and their families living in the Quinte region. In addition to our new locations we have also been able to accomplish some amazing projects thanks to the support received through previous years:
- Introduced a full time Communications professional to the MFRC team in order to facilitate and grow more effective communication with military families
- Developed and implemented the first Special Needs Inclusion Program
Fundraised dollars helped get these projects off the ground and with their success have now been incorporated into our baseline funding.
As we take a step back into history for this special night, we can’t forget to look forward. The tempo at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton is exceptionally high with its Canadian Armed Forces members deployed on missions, exercises and training around the world. As tempo increases so does the demand on our military members and, ultimately, their families. As a result, military families must be prepared for the unexpected, the unknown, the what if and often they must tackle the unexpected without their military loved one.
So, as we look to the future, our goal is to support the military families of 8 Wing when faced with the unique and unexpected challenges associated with the military family lifestyle. The Trenton MFRC will be prepared to respond to challenges military families face through the development of innovative programs and proactive, responsive services. Services like emergency childcare, youth and children programming with a focus on integration and resiliency.
To help us achieve this goal you are invited to show your support for our military community by donating an item to our auction, sponsoring the event or attending the Invisible Ribbon Gala: A Night at the Museum.
